Do I need a referral for a urology appointment in Zadar?

How do I prepare for a urinary tract ultrasound?
For an ultrasound of the bladder and prostate it is best to arrive with a full bladder — drink 0.5–1 L of water about an hour before the examination and do not urinate immediately beforehand. No special preparation is needed for a kidney ultrasound.
When is a testicular ultrasound needed?
A testicular ultrasound is recommended for pain, swelling, a palpable lump, after an injury, or when a varicocele or hydrocele is suspected. The examination is quick and painless, and you receive the results immediately.
What is a cystoscopy and is it uncomfortable?
A cystoscopy is an endoscopic examination of the bladder using a thin instrument passed through the urethra. It is performed under local anaesthesia (gel), so discomfort is minimal and the examination itself takes just a few minutes.
From what age should men have their prostate (PSA) checked?
Regular prostate and PSA checks are recommended for men from the age of 50, or from 45 if there is a family history of prostate cancer. If you have urinary symptoms, an examination is advisable regardless of age.
Do I get my results immediately after the examination?
Yes. Most diagnostic procedures — the examination and ultrasound — are done in a single visit, and you receive the results and recommendations the same day.
